The movie begin with a group of criminal wearing clown mask to rob a bank. They always mention about the "Joker", who is the planner. However, they also been told that they have to kill each other so that they can have a bigger slice......
On the robbery, only 1 have take off his mask, and he seen like as the only survived clown in the robbery: Joker!!

Even though the movie title is "The Dark Knight". But the spotlight is more on Joker rather than The Dark Knight himself.
2 main villain is introduced: Joker and Two-Face.

Gotham City is the city that full of corruption and mobsters ruled the city. However, in recent year, mobsters afraid to come out on night because there is new justice that bring them down: The Batman...
Joker have made an offer with all the mob bosses: "Kill the Batman" But he will not do it without cost.
His real identity is never revealed in the film. He never play rules, and always lying...
He have told Gambol and Rachel about the scar (Glasgow smile) on his face. However, both version are different, and it is believe that neither is truth... Police check for his fingerprint, DNA and dental record after he been caught. But unfortunately, no matches found...
He have some unexplainable behavior, but intelligent and well planned on every crime. He makes the city fall into chaos, and also successfully turn the "Hope of Gotham" to become a villain... Something more surprising is, he can even get himself out after arrested...

Meanwhile, Harvey Dent is is the lawyer that believing in justice and have put many criminal behind the bar. He has been described as the new hope of Gotham City, and said that the city "can't rely on Batman forever". This speech have impress Bruce (Batman) and Bruce have promised to fund him for election. But in the same time, Bruce also competing with him: competing for the love of Rachel Dawes...
He always flip a coin when making decision. This seen like he is a person that believing in fate. But it have been denied after Rachel took over the coin, and notice that it is a two-headed coin...
After Rachel died and his left face burnt, he turn into Two-Face... A person that have gudge on police, mobster, and Batman. And decide their fate by coin...

Putting 2 main villain together in a movie made this movie become interesting, and it become more interesting when both of them are interrelated...
Joker have corrupted Havery Dent (Two-face) and the story concluded by Two-face death with his own quotation: You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
